Batter Up

Batter Up logoWith the recent renovations to Doak Field at Dail Park, the excitement surrounding NC State Baseball is at an all time high. The rededication of the facility took place in April 2005, highlighted by the return of many former Wolfpack baseball players.

As construction has been completed, the Wolfpack Club is working towards the completion of the fundraising for this project. At this time, fundraising totals are approaching the goal of $2.5 million raised.

All fans of Wolfpack baseball are encouraged to join these efforts. There are many different levels at which to join the campaign for baseball. Wolfpack Pride Campaign

The Wolfpack Pride Campaign was a $45 million capital campaign headlined by the building of the $160 million Entertainment and Sports Arena (later renamed PNC Arena) and opened in 1999. The campaign, which originally began in the 1980s under the charge of raising money for the Centennial Center (the original name of the Entertainment and Sports Arena), gained momentum in the mid-1990s. The re-seating of Carter-Finley Stadium in 1998 also played part in this initiative through the creation and sales of lifetime seating rights. Additional facility projects in the Wolfpack Pride Campaign were baseball stadium lights, office renovations, track and field renovations, parking lot improvements to Carter-Finley Stadium, as well as funding the plans for the future of Carter-Finley Stadium.

Goal Line Drive Campaign

The Goal Line Drive Campaign was a $50 million capital campaign that kicked off in the fall of 2001 to fund the first phase of major renovations to Carter-Finley Stadium. The signature piece of this campaign was the construction of the 100,000 square foot Wendell H. Murphy Football Center, a facility dedicated to Wolfpack football. The four-story facility includes coaches offices, a weight room, players' lounge, dining area, academic center, auditorium, sports medicine facilities, Finley Hall of Champions (a museum of Wolfpack football history), and a video production studio, among several team meeting rooms and the locker room. Naming opportunities for both this building and the surrounding plaza, in addition to the continued sales of lifetime seating rights, enabled this campaign to surpass its pledge goal in less than five years. The Goal Line Drive Campaign also funded a new video scoreboard, a new practice facility adjacent to Carter-Finley that houses three natural grass practice fields, and the construction of a permanent seating bowl in the south endzone of Carter-Finley, expanding the stadium by 5,864 additional permanent seats.

The Approach

1174
The Carol Johnson Clubhouse at Lonnie Poole Golf Course on the campus of NC State University will continue to match excellence with tradition. This $5 million facility, which encompasses almost 30,000 square feet, will be the crown jewel of NC State Golf. The clubhouse will not only include a pro shop and grill, but will provide a home for our men's and women's golf teams. This will include lockers, coaches' offices and teaching areas for our nationally renowned PGM program. Thanks to the generosity of Lonnie and Carol Poole, half of the $5 million has already been committed to the project.

Dail Basketball Center
1181
The Dail Basketball Center, a facility dedicated to men's basketball, opened in August of 2005. It is named after donors Curtis and Jacqueline Dail of Garner, NC. The campaign for this facility was a $2.5 million capital initiative. Naming rights for rooms and lockers in this facility are still available. The Dail Basketball Center is adjacent to the Weisiger Brown Athletics Facility and includes the men's basketball coaches and staff offices, a locker room, team meeting room, equipment room, players' lounge and a full-size practice court, with six shooting goals.
